In 2015, Abhishek Banerjee was slapped by a person Debashish Acharya at a public meeting. After some time after this incident, Debashish was attacked by some supporters of the Trinamool Congress. He was also arrested by the police, but at that time Abhishek forgave him so, he was released but only six years later in June 2021, Debashish was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
